Queste fotografie sono state realizzate in Mali tra il 2023 e il 2024, durante un soggiorno a Kanadjiguila nell’ambito delle attività di Studio KENE. Il lavoro si concentra sui gesti che compongono la quotidianità di questi luoghi, dal divertimento di bambini, ragazzi e adulti, alla vita delle persone, fatta di tanti momenti ogni giorno. Le culture e i luoghi sono diversi tra loro, ma sono fatti da piccoli frammenti che li rendono unici.
Il racconto fotografa il paesaggio urbano, i luoghi e le persone che li vivono, che si completano tra di loro. Per me, raccontare le persone attraverso la fotografia permette di andare oltre il singolo individuo: è un modo per connetterci con i luoghi e le realtà che le rappresentano.
Il colore, le azioni, le dinamiche sociali: fermarli nell’attimo che accadono, a volte senza la curiosità e il mezzo che ci permette di raccontarli, li rendono difficili da decifrare. Nello stesso tempo, messi insieme, diventano una forma di condivisione e di memoria sociale.

These photographs were taken in Mali between 2023 and 2024, during a stay in Kanadjiguila as part of Studio KENE activities. The work focuses on the gestures that make up the daily life of these places, from the fun of children, teenagers and adults, to people's lives, made up of many moments every day. Cultures and places are different from each other, but they are made from small fragments that make them unique.
The story photographs the urban landscape, the places and the people who live there, who complement each other.
For me, telling people through photography allows us to go beyond the single individual: it is a way to connect with the places and realities that represent them.
Color, actions, social dynamics: stopping them in the moment they happen, sometimes without the curiosity and the medium that allows us to tell them, make them difficult to decipher. At the same time, put together, they become a form of sharing and social memory.
